In conjunction with Mother's day, Tzu Chi(a Buddhist association from Taiwan) organized a prayers where consists of three objectives. Firstly, blessings for mothers all over the world.Secondly, prayers for natural disasters victims. Thirdly is to celebrate the coming Wesak Day(28th May 2010). Here are the volunteers from Tzuchi waiting to bath the Buddha.
It took about 3 hours for the prayers. There were 30,000 devotees attended this ceremony. The devotees varied from babies to elderly. It was a successful prayer. It was meaningful to join such activity during Mother's day. After,a prayer and the monks and the Tzu Chi followers bathed the Buddha, then we were allowed to bath the Buddha too.So here were the people queuing to bath THE BUDDHA.
Then we got a roll of poster, bookmark and a jasmine flower to bring back. Here is the poster and the quote is by Master Cheng Yen.
People were waiting for their bus to come. Everyone went there by bus as Tzu Chi is an organization that promote recycle and Go Green. So, by providing bus not only can prevent congestion but also avoiding more gas emission by cars.
Here, is my best friend's mom who brought me to this ceremony.I captured this picture while she was seriously praying. Thanks for brought me to such a meaningful event.I wish WORLD PEACE and happiness is always around Us.
